Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King released the following statement on the passing of Rev. James Lawson:
We were saddened to hear about the passing of Rev. James Lawson. I have always had tremendous admiration and deep respect for all he contributed to the civil rights movement. We are praying for his family and the many, many others he inspired through his courageous leadership. His legacy left an indelible mark on humanity.
