Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King released the following statement on the murder of Renee Nicole Good:
We are horrified and heartbroken by the murder of Renee Nicole Good, a beloved mother, wife, and pillar of her community. We grieve with her family and those who knew her, including children who lost a mother and a wife who lost a spouse. As more shocking details emerge, our prayer is that Ms. Good’s legacy is one of healing – healing for a nation on the brink.
Every one of us, regardless of title or zip code, must stand united for peace and democracy.
We must remain steadfast in our resolve to demilitarize law enforcement and see justice for the countless people whose lives have been shattered. Now more than ever, we must see the humanity in each other.
