Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King released the following statement on the murder of two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C.:
We are horrified by the murder of two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C. last night. Their families and loved ones are in our prayers as they mourn these senseless killings. In such moments of extreme violence, it is important to reject all forms of hatred and remember Dr. King’s legacy of nonviolence–remaining steadfast in our resolve and conviction: Love is the antidote to the plague of political violence. Only through love, compassion, and the courage to seek unity can we build a future rooted in peace and dignity.
