Equity for All
Dr. King envisioned a Beloved Community in which all people share the wealth of the earth and where poverty, hunger, and homelessness are not tolerated. He believed that people should not live and labor in poverty. Our struggle today is to make the minimum wage a living wage so that everyone can live full and healthy lives. Together, we can create solutions that will build a better world and lasting change for all.
Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Fierce Urgency of Now
Dr. King would encourage us today to not dwell on the past but to live and labor in what he called “the fierce urgency of now.” He believed that within each one of us, there is a person capable of making change in this world. Our challenge is to be the changemaker in our own lives and our own communities so that we can achieve peace, justice and equity for all.
